What do the care labels mean?


Wash Guide Temperature Settings 60C - Whites and cotton fabrics (includes bedding) 40C - Colours & synthetic items 30C - Delicate items, like underwear should be in a mesh bag to keep them from snagging or tangling. What is the right cycle for my clothes?


Make sure you select the right cycle for your clothes:

  • Whites 60 degree hot wash
  • Colours 40 degree warm wash
  • Bright colours 40 degree warm wash
  • Permanent Press 40 degree warm wash ( to reduce ironing)
  • Delicates 30 degree cold wash ( light spin)
  • Woollens 30 degree cold wash ( light spin)




What is the right amount of detergent to use?


We recommend ½ a cup of detergent straight into the drum.




Why can't I put trainers in the tumble dryer?


  • Please do not put trainers in the tumble dryer as they melt the glue.
  • Stuffing them full of newspapers and putting them near a radiator might be a better option.




How do I use fabric conditioner?


  1. Do not pour fabric conditioner straight onto clothes as it will stain them.
  2. Washstation recommends using a 2 in 1 detergent.
  3. If fabric conditioner is required place straight in the drum before putting clothes in.




What is the right amount of laundry in the machine?


Washstation recommends filling the machine ¾ of the way up the glass door




How do I use the coin operated launderette?


  • Ensure you have the correct change for the machines.
  • Put the money into the machines to start washing.




How do I use the card operated launderette?


  1. Go to reception or to the vending machine in you laundry to get your Washstation laundry card.
  2. Click here top up your card or to register your card.
  3. Follow the instructions and enter your card number, you do need to include the dashes (-).
  4. Once the card is registered it is now ready to be topped up.
  5. When value has been added to the card, you will receive a pincode (6 Digits).
  6. Remember the pincode and take your card to the laundry room.
  7. Hold the card to the Pinmate machine and enter the pincode.
  8. Value has now been added to the card and you're ready to start washing.




How do I use the washing machines?


  1. Load your clothes into the washing machine, filling the machine 3⁄4 of the way up the glass door.
  2. Add laundry detergent straight into the drum – we recommend Purex 3 in 1 which can be bought from the soap vending machine in the launderette.
  3. Close the door firmly shut.
  4. Insert coins or hold your Washstation card against the card reader on the machine.
  5. Select the required cycle and press the start button.

  2. Load clothes into the tumble dryer
  3. Insert coins or hold your Washstation card against the card reader on the machine.
  4. Select the required cycle and press the start button.

What Temperature? 150-160C - Cotton shirts, jeans, bedding and towels 140-150C - synthetic fabrics and cotton blends 110-120C - Silks and other delicate items
